Room

Welcome Home (Boston, 2015-16) in collaboration with Daniel Wu & Raphael Pastourie

A Harvard President’s Challenge finalist, Welcome Home is a start-up seeking to provide affordable housing solution through a digital home-matching platform and a modular room division system. By helping landlords with underutilized houses subdivide excess spaces into code-compliant rooms, we increase the inventory of affordable living spaces without new construction, generating savings for tenants and profits for landlords. Welcome Home leases its proprietary room division system to partner landlords and provides design and assembly assistance.

To create communities of tenants rather than a gaggle of transient roamers, Welcome Home will brand each participating home with a distinct theme and screen tenants for ideal fits.

As co-founder and designer from 2015 – 16, I helped develop the project’s mobile UI and designed/fabricated hardware prototypes for beta testing.
